Moses Hernandez is a Bronx-born chef, author, and mental health advocate with nearly three decades of experience in high-volume kitchens, including hospitals, independent schools, and community-focused food programs. A survivor of addiction and long-term recovery, his work explores leadership, resilience, and the human cost of life in the kitchen. He is the author of The Raw Journey: A Chef’s Honest Path Towards Growth (recently accepted into the Library of Congress) and related works, and a contributor and mental health advocate. His work has been published by organizations like the Burnt Chef Project. Through writing, speaking, and creative projects, he focuses on honesty, usefulness, and showing up with integrity in demanding spaces.

My mission is simple: to show that the power isn’t in perfection — it’s in the message. Whether in kitchens, classrooms, or communities, I use writing, speaking, and creativity to help people face their struggles and build new beginnings. All while working full time doing what I love, serving others food. be real about what I needed to get better. I’m blessed and grateful.

Thank you to the people!!
